SSHH works with households that are homeless or households in risk of becoming homeless.  If the household is still housed, SSHH counselor will advocate, provide community resources and if needed, provide dispute resolution.  If any fair housing or discrimination concerns arise, they will be referred to the Renters Helpline for further investigation or education. If they are currently homeless, we will provide shelter and long-term housing options.

A Housing Counselor complete an intake assessment to identify barriers, bad credit, evictions and legal concerns along with assets income, rental history etc.  During the intake, the housing counselor will provide referrals based on their assessment and other referrals. We educate each household on the housing market, paperwork they need to bring with the application and interview tips. The housing counselor will advocate and make follow up phone calls.

We currently provide services in cooperation with Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove, SETA, MAN, Birth and Beyond, and Pathways.
