Let Them Eat Cake 2020 will be on October 1 2020 and Virtual
Sacramento Self-Help Housing is reimagining this year's Let Them Eat Cake Event. Due to COVID-19, we are having our 20 year anniversary LTEC celebration virtually. Here what you need to know.
Let Them Eat Cake Announcement and Bastille Day Party - Even though we're not able to hold our annual 'Let Them Eat Cake' event on Bastille Day this year, we can't let it go by without eating some yummy cake! To celebrate the day, our amazing event emcee ABC10's Mark S. Allen -- who continues to rack up an ever-increasing and impressive number of Emmy Awards -- will bake a family-famous cake recipe on Bastille Day (7/14)...note that he's eaten this special cake every birthday of his life but this will be the FIRST TIME he's doing the cake baking himself! Stay tuned for the Facebook live information.
7/15 Update - Thank you Mark S. Allen for supporting SSHH. To see the recorded event please follow the link here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=927517861094185.
October 1 2020 - Even though we may not be able to meet in person, SSHH is dedicated to featuring our partners, thanking its staff, celebrating 20 years of service, and, as is tradition, eat some cake! SSHH leadership is currently working on putting together a virtual experience for those that want to celebrate with us. The October 1st event will be a mix of live footage featuring the SSHH Executive Director and SSHH staff as well as a prerecorded video of our programs and success. Additionally, we will be showing a first peek trailer of the documentary titled "Nameless." Nameless is a project in partnership with DDSO Employment Plus that is dedicated to highlighting the success and human impact of SSHH's scattered sight transitional housing program. More information about DDSO Employment Plus can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/employmentplus/.
