Individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless need an advocate with expertise in the housing market.
SSHH staff serve people at sites throughout
Sacramento County and the cities of Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, and Rancho Cordova. They also collaborate with Sacramento Employment and Training Agency, the Mutual Assistance Network and Birth and Beyond to: (1) assess the family situation, (2) educate the client on the application process, (3) provide interviewing tips, (4) and provide referrals to pre-screened housing opportunities. In 2015 SSHH staff helped 3,291 people find stable housing through this program.
