An exciting example of interim housing is Cathedral House, a shelter for homeless adults. The staff at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament refer most of the clients. Participants in this program can stay up to 90 days. Our staff develops individual case plans for each resident, focusing on housing, employment, and medical needs. We help them achieve their goals.
In 2015, forty-three people stayed at Cathedral House for varying lengths of time. Of these, 70 percent had significant mental health issues, and 44 percent had physical disabilities. Over 60 percent of them moved into stable housing from this program.
